We chose British White cattle for our farm because they perfectly balance heritage, temperament and environmental stewardship. Their striking white coats and docile nature make them a joy to work with. Their hardiness and efficiency means they can remain outside all year round and benefit from their exceptional maternal instincts. By raising this ancient, naturally polled breed, we contribute to conservation grazing; their ability to thrive on diverse landscapes helps us manage the land sustainably, promoting biodiversity and healthier ecosystems. For us, the British White cattle are a vital part of the landscape, a commitment to quality farming and the preservation of a remarkable British legacy.
We currently have 13 cattle with 6 cows, 6 heifers and 1 steer. All of our cattle are pedigree animals with names. The matriarch of our herd is Larissa and the friendlist is her daughter Lisa (or Licky Lisa!). We had our first heifer calf, Gaia, born on the farm in July 2025. Her Mum Greenshank and sister Greensand keep a careful eye on her. Our two most recent additions to the herd are Lemon and a steer calf Domino.Â
